A home inspection covers the visible and accessible components of a property — structure, foundation, roof, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, insulation, windows, and doors. At Northeast Property Inspections, every residential inspection is conducted by a certified engineer and documented in a detailed written report. We serve buyers and sellers across Long Island, New York City, and Westchester County.
Most residential inspections take between two and four hours, depending on the size and condition of the property. Larger homes or older properties with more components to evaluate will take longer. We encourage buyers to attend — it's the best way to understand what's in the report before you get to the closing table.
Yes. Being present lets you ask questions in real time and hear the inspector's findings directly. Luis Bigit and the Northeast Property Inspections team walk clients through every significant finding as it comes up. You'll leave with a clear picture of what you're buying — not just a document to read later.
Finding issues is the point. A thorough inspection report gives buyers leverage to negotiate repairs, credits, or price adjustments before closing. Northeast Property Inspections has completed over 25,000 inspections across New York — our reports are built to hold up in any negotiation, and our clients' attorneys know it.
